CUSTOM SYSTEM TYPES
Our specialty is the ability to
analyze your observational problems, jointly select the proper components and
then we integrate them into a system that will provide you with the
observational data or interactive system you require for use even under very
difficult environmental conditions. In
addition, custom systems are designed to be very user friendly and video technicians are rarely required for set
up, equipment modifications or data collection. Each system is assembled, jacks
& wires coded and fully tested prior to being shipped to you. We do not supply untested "boxed"
components. Depending on your requirements, CUSTOM
SYSTEMS may incorporate one or
more of our standard or modified FIELDCAM recorder systems or camera
systems. Based on our
extensive experience in building over 650 custom video systems, since 1987, we
choose to distinguish among CUSTOM types based on the following
criteria:
CUSTOM
EDUCATIONAL systems are designed
to use remote video technology for real time observation of animals or
environments with virtually no limitations including underwater in total
darkness. The use of tapes recorded by
staff members and custom camera placement (including underwater) require no
outside technical support. Web servers are browser programmable and available
for single and multi camera systems. CUSTOM
INTERACTIVE systems are designed to allow visitors or
staff to remotely select, pan, tilt, zoom or focus video cameras for real time
observation of animals or environments with virtually no limitations including
total darkness. Careful attention is
given to total system suitability and durability to achieve the level of
interaction you require. Because
aimless searching in an activity poor environment creates frustration, we do
not supply "joystick" driven systems for visitors as they encourage a
"Nintendo Game" mindset.
Multiple live camera systems integrated with your prerecorded DVD clips
can give the visitor a directed level of interaction that you can control. CUSTOM
INDUSTRIAL systems are designed
to allow portable inspection and monitoring under very difficult physical
limitations and environmental conditions.
Cost effective inspections with permanent video records can be performed
without dismantling piping or vessels, etc.
Cameras and monitors are protected from corrosive conditions with
appropriate housings. Low voltage
explosion proof camera systems are available.
Monitoring of various long term processes with cameras and time lapse
recorders provide definitive data at much lower cost than continuous staff
monitoring. CUSTOM
LABORATORY systems are supplied with protective housings
to properly protect the remote cameras.
The recording, monitoring and power supply units must usually be
protected from ambient weather conditions and in general require external 110
VAC line power. In all systems, the
remote cameras do not operate from line power but are low voltage DC powered
usually with a single cable. CUSTOM
SCIENTIFIC systems are used to monitor various multiple
applications by consulting organizations. Applications involve physical
situations or interactions that are usually too fast or too slow for human eyes
or the brain to comprehend and then accurately record the visible data
stream. Displacement is another
characteristic of a scientific system.
You are where you want to be. The observation location is displaced up a
tree or tower, in a mine, down a pipe, in a stream etc. and you are connected
by internet, fiber optics, power over coaxial cable, twisted telephone line
pairs, cell phone, radio towers, satellite link etc.
All custom system choices are predicated on the three
basic reasons to use video: CAN'T BE THERE DON'T WANT TO BE THERE , IF YOU WERE THERE YOU WOULD BIAS
THE DATA If you are considering using a security or surveillance company to build for you a Custom System we list above, please consider the following first:
The first step in solving your Observational Problem is the completion of either our "Define the Problem" (for field, laboratory , zoological , scientific or industrial applications or our "Why Use Video" for educational or interactive applications or both if applicable.. At any time feel free to call with questions, add additional pages or send reprints of your pertinent previous papers or documents. After our preliminary analysis, we will call or if necessary meet(rarely required) with you to discuss options in each of the equipment categories and deployment scenarios. If further research is required, a follow-up call or meeting will be scheduled. Next a preliminary written proposal will be sent to you with a number of optional components listed under the category "If Funds Allow". We will call to discuss this proposal and then additional more directed written proposals will be submitted to you. Our final proposal will list only the exact equipment you require for your CUSTOM system. If additional or future funds become available, selected items from the "If Funds Allow" category may be requoted for integration into your system.
