For a more complete listing of Digital Recording Systems - Special Capabilities  see our tutorial.

SDCF SYSTEMS

SDCF systems are all solid state recorders with no moving parts.  Images are sequentially collected in memory and when the memory is full or upon command, the images are automatically downloaded to a Compact Flash card. This unique system is appropriate when smaller quantities of images are required ( 1/2 million or so), real time is not required (Temporal Intervals of 30 to 0.2 seconds), low current draw and compact size is important

Many of the Analog and Digital systems listed above have options available to further enhance their capabilities.  These features are designated by the letters:

 B  O  Q  X  D  C  M G

B         Battery power conversion

An internal power supply which allows recorder, remote video camera and infrared illuminators (if required) to operate from external 12 VDC power sources such as deep discharge (marine type) batteries, solar panels, water or wind turbines while retaining all functions of the unmodified recorder.  External power inverters (12 VDC to 120 VAC) are not required to operate these fully integrated systems.

O         Weatherproof Overcase

The recorder is fitted within a compact weatherproof overcase fitted with appropriate weatherproof  remote camera, power input, video / audio output monitoring and remote illuminator power jacks.  Hinged lids allow rapid access to the recorder for  all function controls.  Cases are fitted with permanent high density ethafoam to protect recording deck and other internal components. All cases are vacuum tested for inbound leakage of air and when case is latched shut, it will float in water.  Overcase colors are black, yellow or gray. Large overcases are available with new heavy duty ribbed case with mil.- spec. stainless steel drawlatches,  integral wheels and handles for ease of transport.

Q or X    Quadraxial  or ConXall remote camera power supply and cable jack

A waterproof quadraxial port or ConXall jack is fitted to the overcase to supply power out to the remote camera(s) and to carry the video  signal back directly into the recorder.  Cable runs of up to 330 ft. (100 meters) are possible and this system is compatible with virtually all of our remote cameras.

D         Coaxial Driver

Integrated within the FIELDCAM overcase, (as required by customer applications) is an optional  power over coaxial cable driver system which allows most remote cameras to operate at distances out to  3300 ft. (1000 meters)  with no other external power source. The single coaxial cable is used to both power the remote camera and to bring the video and or audio  signal back to the recorder. The latest inter-carrier technology prevents signal degradation, hum and prevents high frequency loss on the extended cable run. This balanced signal is then fed into the regular video monitoring and recording circuits within the recorder. Options include the ability to control our VERSACAM™ and VERSACAM PTZD/N pan , tilt, zoom, day/night dome cameras at these extended distances..

C         VITC Vertical Interval Time Code Generator

An inline encoding device that places a unique time code on each frame of the recorded image so that when the tape is played back using Noldus Observer Video Pro software, individual frames may be accessed and analyzed. Not normally required with digital recording systems.

M      Multiplexer System

A Multiplexer allows the output from up to 4 to 9 remote cameras to be sequentially recorded onto a single tape (or Digital Hard Drive) at up to 30 frames per second per camera and then to be demultiplexed and played back as a quad image or any single camera from the recording. Real time imaging of any one channel, four channel quad or nine channels simultaneously or sequentially with adjustable dwell times is available. Very high resolution (720 pixels per horizontal line) multiplexers with both field and frame recording are available.  Includes power supply for multiplexer and external attachment jacks for multiple remote cameras.  Monitor select capability allows output of any camera or group image to be directed to the monitor.

G       GPS Interface Board, Cabling and Weatherproof Jack System

Allows the .GLL sentence portion of the NMEA0183 ASCII output from your GPS system to be displayed onscreen and recorded as video overlay the UTC, Latitude and Longitude along with the video image. Cost includes ASCII decoder for onscreen display of data and programming of the decoder
